When do you need a garden clearance?

Garden clearance is for the waste a weekly bin cannot take: heaps of cuttings after a tidy-up, a collapsed fence, a shed being emptied, or soil and rubble left by landscaping. We collect it from where it lies, load it and take it to a licensed facility.

The most common jobs are end-of-season clear-outs and the aftermath of a landscaping project: branches, hedge trimmings, turf, broken pots, rotten decking and fence panels. Garden waste is bulky but light, so it usually fits the load sizes well and a quarter or half load covers most gardens.

Soil, hardcore and rubble are different. They are heavy, so they are priced per load or ton rather than by volume, and we need to know roughly how many rubble sacks there are before we quote. A photo of the pile next to something for scale is usually enough.

Sheds, garden furniture and old barbecues can go too. Tell us whether the shed is already down or still standing when you ask for a price, so we can plan the right amount of labour.

Published prices

How much does garden clearance cost?

Garden clearance is priced by the load, from £130 for a quarter load (up to 250 kg) to £390 for a full load (up to 1,000 kg). Clean soil and clean hardcore are heavier, so they are charged per load or ton: £230 per load / ton for hardcore and £260 per load / ton for soil.

Mixed garden waste is priced by load size. Soil and hardcore are priced per load or ton, so send a photo of the pile with something for scale.

What we cannot take

We cannot take hazardous waste: asbestos, paint and other liquids, gas bottles, chemicals or clinical waste. If you are unsure about an item, ask when you send your photos and we will tell you before we quote. Invasive plants such as Japanese knotweed need specialist handling and are not collected as general green waste.

How it works

How does garden clearance work?

From photo to cleared garden in three steps.

  1. Step 1: Send a photo of the pile

A photo of the waste with something for scale tells us the load size, or the number of rubble sacks for soil and hardcore. WhatsApp, the quote form or a call all work.

  2. Step 2: We confirm the price and access

We agree the load size and how we will reach the garden: through the house, a side gate or a rear access. Open 7 days a week.

  3. Step 3: We bag, load and remove it

The team bags loose waste, carries everything to the vehicle and leaves the area clear. Nothing is left on the pavement or by the gate.

Questions answered

Garden clearance questions

Answers to the questions we hear most about garden waste.

Not covered here? Call 07857 647238 and ask.

How much does garden clearance cost?

Mixed garden waste costs from £130 for a quarter load up to £390 for a full load, with loading included. Clean soil and clean hardcore are priced per load or ton, at £260 per load / ton and £230 per load / ton respectively.

Do you take soil and rubble?

Yes, clean soil and clean hardcore are collected and priced per load or ton because of their weight. One load is roughly 40 rubble sacks, so count the sacks or send a photo and we will confirm the price.

How is garden waste priced, by weight or by volume?

By load size, with a weight allowance built into each one: a quarter load covers up to 250 kg and a full load up to 1,000 kg. Light, bulky waste such as hedge trimmings is priced on the space it takes, while heavy soil and rubble use the per-ton rates.

Can you clear an overgrown garden?

We remove the cuttings, brash and green waste once the growth has been cut back, and we can discuss light cutting-back as part of the job when you send photos. Tell us what you need done and we will confirm what is included before we quote.

Do you take sheds and fencing?

Yes, we remove shed timber, panels, posts and trellis that are already dismantled or loosened. If the shed or fence is still standing, tell us when you ask for a price and we will confirm whether dismantling can be included.

What green waste can you not take?

Invasive species such as Japanese knotweed, giant hogweed and Himalayan balsam need specialist handling under controlled-waste rules, so they are not collected as general garden waste. Everything else that grows in a garden is fine.

How quickly can you collect garden waste?

We are open seven days a week from 6am, and most collections are booked within days of your photos. Same-day collections available — call to check today's availability.

Is garden clearance cheaper than a skip?

For most gardens, yes: there is no permit to pay for, no loading to do yourself and you pay only for the space your waste takes up. A skip also has to sit on your drive or the road for days, whereas we arrive, load and leave in one visit.
